pretty good start there, but some older stuff.

Not too much new stuff has been coming out and most of the songs on the charts are all at least few months old. The summer should start with some new songs/albums.

Lee Brice - Hard 2 Love
Kenny/Tim - Feel Like A Rock Star

I'm so far out of the loop on today's country. I make my wife a cd every 6 months or so with songs she writes down. That's pretty much the only way I find out about them.

If you were to look up "pop country douchebag cliche" in a dictionary they would list this song.

I can't help too much as I recognize like 3 names from slickback's list, but avoid the song about the dad talking about his kid's chicken nuggets and orange drink. Might be the worst song I've heard in the last 5 years.

Lee Brice is pretty much the only new mainstream country artist I listen to. His album is fairly new, maybe a year old now, but most of the songs on it have been leaked out & available for literally 5-7 years now while he was doing his independent stuff (I had someone make me an 8 song Lee Brice cd back in 2007 and 5 of those 8 songs made it to this album). These older, pre-released songs that are out there sound even better than the recent album versions, IMO, because they werent touched up and polished in the studio. The majority of them are just Lee and an acoustic guitar being recorded in smaller studios. Good stuff if you can find them.

Lee also writes all of his own stuff and has written songs for Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks, including Garth's hit "More Than A Memory", so you have to respect him for that even if you dont enjoy the music. I highly suggest finding Lee's original, acoustic version of "More Than A Memory" (pretty sure its on iTunes). Its pretty damn great!

Edit: Lee Brice - More Than A Memory (Live)
