UPDATE - Anyone ever seen Joe Bonamassa live?

Seeing him this weekend in Little Rock and wondering what to expect other than serious guitar shredding.
Is it worth $115/ticket for floor seats?
Update: FYI - the concert was GREAT. He played about 2 hours and shredded the whole time. He closed out with Leon Russell’s “Hummingbird” and it was epic. It was one of those choruses and lead guitar solos that you never want to end.
If you’ve never seen him it’s absolutely worth it.

That's pretty steep...Joe's getting a little full of himself these days. He is good though, some would say perhaps too good for blues playing. I get what they're saying but I have a hard time criticizing somebody for being accurate. Anyway, he puts on a good show; you'll enjoy it for sure.
As for what to expect, he mixes it up a lot from tour to tour and I'm not sure what he's playing on this one. Sometimes it's nearly all classic blues (like the Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters tour), sometimes it's acoustic, usually it's original stuff with a few classics thrown in. He'll also throw in random quotes from, say, Steve Howe, in the middle of a solo.
On the downside, he's a little bit of a showboat. It's all about him. His shows often come off as being too rehearsed for blues music.

Interesting take. The more I see of him in videos I can see where you would say that. He does seem to be into himself and cocky. I also see where he can sound too rehearsed.
One thing I like about older blues guys (Clapton, Gary Moore, Peter Green, etc.) is that they seem to improvise and play with lots of soul. Bonamassa seems a little more technical and rehearsed as you said.
Thanks for the input though. Hopefully it’s a good show.

He’s fricking amazing.
115$ is pretty steep

I've seen him twice in New Orleans and his shows are amazing. Normally I cringe when I spent over $100 for a music ticket, but it fades away when I hear him play live. Listening to Happier Times alone is worth the price of admission.
As for the setlist, it looks like his tour revolves around his Blues of Desperation Album. If you like it, you'll like the show.
I saw him after Driving Towards the Daylight came out and then again after Different Shades of Blue. Both were great concerts. Each time was a two part show. First was an acoustic and then full band the second half.
Enjoy!

Ole boy gets him some 'guitar face' going when he plays. Watch for it.

No way in hell my wife would ever do that with me. I’m having to take my dad.

He's a great player but, like a friend once said of the Clapton 'From the Cradle' album, his style can be a little sterile for blues.
That said, I saw him here and really enjoyed the show. Some of the folks in the audience had seen him many times, and a few were going to the next show on the tour.
His band was killer. Reese Wynans (Hit it, Reese!) on keyboards, Anton Fig (Letterman band) on drums, and Michael Rhodes (session man from Monroe) on bass. Not sure of the current lineup.

Saw him at the Ryman a couple of years ago. Great band and great show. He won’t disappoint
