Has anyone tried remixing St. Anger so people could hear what it would sound like if Lars had played real drums on the album and not a couple of upside down 5 gallon buckets?

That still doesn't take "Lars" out of the equation, though.

What's up with all the Lars hate? Is that the cool thing now?

My opinion is even more unpopular...St. Anger is their best album.

Yep. Thought I was the only one.

Before the internet, Lars was a metal drumming god. Post internet, people act like he is an amateur Gollum looking, no talent, off key neophyte. Go listen to Master of Puppets & And Justice for All.... & come back & tell me he sucks. I know he is older now & probably not as good but there is no way you can say he is not good.

Lars is kinda like Vinnie Paul in that his drumming style fits the band but he's not that great overall. Both of their abilities fell off a cliff in the early 2000s and they're both insufferable douches now.

Truly a unique style he played on this album. Also, he puzzled me way back in the day when he said in an interview something like "I try to sit BEHIND the beat". I was always like "well how screwy is that that the drummer wouldn't even be on the beat?". But I really do see and love what he means now. Go listen to Ronnie. Perfect example.

Vinnie is awful. Lars was at least ok in the 80s.

My unpopular opinion is that Metallica may be the most overrated rock band ever.

I mean, this is just dumb as shite. Have you heard any of the first four albums?

Didn't read all of the post because I don't give a frick my opinion is right. Load is better than Black. Both are shite and yes, Lars is a shite drummer but until James learns how to growl/sing again their live shite will be just that... shite. Listen to the live Battery a couple of post before mine. James ruins the song. Forget what you learned in the early 90s and just fricking kill it like Live in Seattle on Justice tour.

I don't really care for Hetfield's lounge crooner shtick, but dude's in his 50's. it is what it is.
