And with that said, any Spacehog/Blind Melon fans should check out The Tender Trio. It was a band comprised of bassist/vocalist Royston Langdon (Spacehog) and guitarist Rogers Stevens of Blind Melon. Unfortunately, they never put out a proper release, but they do have a pretty good album circulating.

Personally, I think their lone LP is better than just about every grunge era album with the exception of maybe Ten, Badmotorfinger, Nevermind, Dirt, Jar of Flies, and Temple of the Dog.

Concrete Blonde
Opus III
Northern Pikes
ETA:
Mad Season is a good one.
I probably have a better list of artists than bands... but that's a different story.

I think they got more underrated as the 90s came to an end. Frogstomp and Freakshow were both pretty popular, but then they really refined their sound while the masses fled to nu-metal and fake punk. Neon Ballroom (1999) and Diorama (2002) are both hugely underrated albums. Young Modern, as well. When I first heard it, I thought it was decent, but the more I've listened to it, the more I love it. Parts of the album are like an old Hackett/Gabriel Genesis suite.
