Disregarding the actual "rock star" stereotype previously mentioned, as far as pure music goes, these men are 2nd to none.

If only going with the same era, Eddie Vedder is still alive as is Chris Cornell.

I am a total Pearl Jam "homer" though.

Why

Because he's not. He would tell you he's not. And he'd be right. If we are going tour numbers then Dave Matthews is also a rock star.

At least DMB dumped a boatload of piss in a river once. When Trey jumps off stage and beats a hippie's arse cause he stole some other hippie's grill cheese, he'll at least get his name mentioned for a brief second

Trey is as much of a rockstar as Jerry Garcia. Which means not at all.

I don't understand why Phish/Trey have to be the center of attention in every fricking music thread.

You summed it up well UPT.

I'm not sure the descprition the OP has for "real rock star" but, for a while Scott Weiland probably met the criteria.

Criticizes Alterbridge rock star status then calls Dave Grohl and PMac rock stars sometimes I can't help but troll the board that worships Phish and Kanye West
