Top Albums for 1967

1967 was hands down, in my opinion, the greatest year for albums. It seems like every hard-hitter at the time came out with an album, and a fantastic one at that. Artists that barely missed on this list include legends like the Rolling Stones, Duke Ellington, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, and Miles Davis. Psychedelic rock was nearing its dizzying heights, with notable releases by Pink Floyd, Moby Grape, The Moody Blues, The Creation, The Chocolate Watchband, Country Joe and the Fish, Jefferson Airplane, The Masters Apprentices, the 13th Floor Elevators, and Kaleidoscope. Other big releases included Buffalo Springfield,Otis Redding, John Mayhall, Leonard Cohen, and John Lee Hooker. Good times indeed.

From 66-76, I don't think there was a better 10 year span for music.

1967 was absolutely incredible for music. Extremely tough to narrow to 10. Really wanted to include The Moody Blues, Love & The Who but my list would shake out like this

To each their own. I can understand why The Doors aren't for everyone (one of my favorite bands esp. live) but I don't know if I've ever met someone who doesn't like The Who let alone think they're overrated. The Who have come out with some really stellar albums: Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia, and The Who Sell Out specifically. No way they are overrated in my opinion because their line of work speaks for itself.

I was under the impression not liking the Who was a fairly common thing. Their whole sound does absolutely nothing for me, and never has
The Doors aren't really that bad, I like a lot of their stuff. But they're not some like groundbreaking revolutionary band like some make them out to be.
And Jim Morrison was a hack poet, and kind of a douche

I really haven't but I guess they don't get brought up a whole lot. The doors have tons of live shows worth checking out if you get into them. There are some really good torrents with unreleased concerts and great quality.
