No band has been able to topple the Beatles as the greatest band ever. 50 years of trying.

Clint, I usually like your suggestions here.... You are a different dude and Im on board but I for one will never understand the Creed hate. I know Scott is a douchebag but overall, I enjoyed their music
Sometimes you just dont get what others hate. This is one for me. They are not my favorite or anything but I dont see them any where near the top worst even in the grunge era...
Some great songs to me

And yet they are STILL the greatest band ever, despite your opinion

I felt nothing was original about the band, I don't like his style of vocals or lyrical content. Also didn't like the style of music, of the production of it for that matter. A lot of it felt very generic for the times.
That first album may as well be a Christian album, until you get to the last song where he throws in some random "goddamns". I was a third generation evangelical precacher's kid, had to deal with youth groups going back as far as the late 80s. I remember the satanic panic well, and the fallout of it which would come to effect my teenage years.
I remember being 12 and having my misfits, skinny puppy and Metallica cassettes confiscated and thrown away. Then replaced by bands like Third Day, Carman, DC Talk..and the likes of such. Needless to say, that obviously didn't sit well with me.
Creed reminds me of a polished version of one of those commercial christian bands. And I despise that genre, which most of it was bands trying to rip off successful "worldly" bands..but put their Christian spin on it. Always felt like Creed was doing the same thing, and their songs got over because they were so generic.
I get why they are successful, I just don't appreciate their existence.

I'll take this a different direction:
1. any Christian Rock Band
2. any country bands between 1978-2010 that are even
close to being capable of writing a song like
"Boot Scootin' Boogie".
3. any hair band from 1980-1998.
4. any band that spends more then :15 seconds in front
of a mirror before they go onstage.
5. any band or performer who calls himself Vanilla Ice.

Haha! I really liked them back in the day and still like lots of their stuff, but you are right.
Like so many bands, their early material is really good, then they started being molded into what the producers/record companies wanted to hear to get them radio time. First three albums were good, 4 started the slide, and it was over after that. There are many others that went the same route.
Good point. Chicago and Heart did the same shite. That power ballad money grab in the 80s. It’s a shame for fans of those bands but I’m sure their bank accounts are smiling.

The Beatles are not better or equal to Led Zepplin.
As instrumentalists, they don’t have 1/8 of the talent of Zepplin or Floyd.
Overrated Boy Band, IMO

How many Number 1 songs did Zepplin have again?
Posted on 3/13/23 at 9:08 am to Undertow
This is actually easy for me. I like all the genres I've listed, but it always comes down to the singer I can't stand.
1. GREEN DAY
2. REM
3. DOORS
4. DEPECHE MODE
5. DURAN DURAN
Honorable mention: IRON MAIDEN

Every member of the Beatles have had more talented bowel movements than what Zeppelin or Floyd ever possessed.
