Elvis Christmas album should be on there IMO

I also like the Sinatra one, among the other crooner classics.

One that gets tossed around a lot is the Sufjan Stevens one but I have given it 100 chances and have hated it every time.

Wow, that's a little too heroiny for me. I like some good heroin music but damn.

Tell me, what do you think about this rendition of Jingle Bells by Bela with some Far East Russian throat singers?

LINK

It's not as heroiny as your link. But still weird.

That’s a good one too, except the copy I have says “from Phil Spector” instead of Philles records. I know they mean the same thing. Just an observation.

The inspiration for OP was hearing some Dean Martin on the radio driving home, and thinking a Rat Pack Christmas album could fetch a #4 or #5 spot in my top five.

I think it’s cold and somber and sets a magical/mystical air perfectly.

MMJ is also heroiny.

I just can't do it.

Maybe I came the wrong place.

That one is worth if for Jeff Beck's version of Amazing Grace alone.

give that robert walter album i mentioned a shot. i linked to youtube so you can check it out -- it's all instrumental (which is awesome IMO), groovy, full of holiday cheer, and not at all "heroiny".
