So many great bands came out of the SE. If LA is considered to be in the SE I'd throw in The Meters, Potliqour and The Radiators.

Actually, they started developing their sound playing in Nashville, as both Allmans were born in Nashville

Also, any list would have to include The Charlie Daniels Band and The Marshall Tucker Band

Maybe on an idiotic technicality. But they were Southern rock and out of Atlanta.

Lowell George played with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and left and formed Little Feat. Most of the original members were members of Zappa's band. They formed the band in L.A.

Little Feat is not a southern rock band although they may sound like one.
