Hopefully legit

Some scoffed when reports surfaced in July of last year that Tool were planning on releasing their highly anticipated follow-up to 2006's macabre tour-de-force, 10,000 Days, in early 2014, but according to guitarist Adam Jones, the album is complete and will arrive later this year.

Jones told an unnamed fan attending a pre-show VIP meet-and-greet in Portland, Oregon on Thursday afternoon that the notoriously uncompromising outfit’s fifth studio album is “one-hundred percent done” and should arrive later in the year.
Hopefully legit

Oh shite I haven't listened to Tool in forever. They've been making new music?

Interdasting. They sure kept it hush hush while making it for sure especially with all the talk of Maynard not writing lyrics yet.
With that being said, it just moved a little

Quick search and I found this...

I was there. He said “the album is done, it will be out tomorrow”. It was clearly a joke.
I stick to my prediction that it will be out sometime between Oct 2014-March 2015.
I believe it is written and as soon as they finish this tour, they will hit the studio, lay it down... Maynard will go be a new daddy over the summer, farm his yearly grape harvest for wine, the album will release, and then there will be a full tour at the beginning of next year.

Hahahaha. So is that link in the first post just some dumb music blog spreading rumors? I think he should have waited for April 1.

My prediction for this album:
Tool fans that love Aenima and Lateralus but not big fans of 10K days will be ultimately disappointed. Tool fanboys will love it because they love everything Tool and Tool can do no wrong.

If the hints are correct, the album is supposed to go back to the Aenima/Lateralus feel... But who fricking knows.
Btw, I looked up the setlist from last night and setlistfm claims they played the grudge...
I know have a boner

Yeah that is the best setlist I've seen from them since the Lateralus tour. Very balanced between my favorite albums.

It takes a tin ear not to like 10,000 days.

Def solid, but the Dallas show in 2012 can compete.
That show was amazing
