Good Lord I'm glad I just ordered it at 4:30, must have been right after that

Crazy in 24 hours, the lead single gets 3 million views on youtube, no telling how many streaming service plays, and the preorder sells out.
Posted on 8/8/19 at 7:17 pm to Devious
And the preorder base line was a $45 package.
Can you say loyalty?

The fricking transition around the 8:00 mark...
Danny Carey is a sick, sick, SICK INDIVIDUAL.

I'm convinced Danney Carey is not of this world

Agreed. To me, Justin joining the band was the turning point. He and Danny are so creative and technically sound. When you really listen to the things they make sound simple, the nuance and complexity are amazing. I'm not discounting Adam's contributions at all. But I feel he's not as advanced as the other two.

I'm torn, they are calling it limited edition, I don't know if they will release more, im guessing yes, I'm a huge fan though I'm not sure I would resale it, I'll see what unfolds

TOOL is Adams band, the best part of said band is the rhythm section, no doubt. When you have Danny and Justin grooving you can almost play any guitar sound over it and it's going to sound good.
Danny Carey is one of the all time greats and Justin compliments him perfectly.
When I think of TOOL I think of that nasty bass groove with the percussion from another dimension.
Adam has figured out to let them shine, and he adds his contribution in with perfection. Adam also has a unique and sick guitar tone that screams TOOL. He masterfully fades in and out of that powerful rhythm section where its sometimes hard to tell the amount he's doing because it blends with the others so well. He's also the creative force visually and if you have been to a show you know how powerful that becomes, it's not a concert it's an experience.
Then you have one of the best rock vocalists of our generation, range wise and content wise, just blending in like a 4th instrument.
Man I love this band, excuse me while I go change my underwear.

quote:Absolutely. I play drums and guitar. The creative growth and tone honing Adam has shown is awesome on its own. His sound is his signature. He has no problems dialing back, and Justin's ability allows him to play anywhere on the neck. His composition can be so simple at times but absolutely perfect for the holistic composition.

Add in that he owns the visual art...there's no doubt Tool is his baby.

Agreed 1000% you can tell when fellow musicians talk. And usually we are dead on like you are here.
There's a reason Tool is breaking records with lifetime fans 13 years later. They are one of if not the most technically sound act that's left.
I love the new APC esp MJK's work on it but it's release came and went under the radar.
This is not going to happen for Fear Inoculum, in fact Id be willing to bet it has already sold more than Eat the Elephant lifetime sales.
This is going to break modern sales records, mark my words
I haven't been to a rock show in a long, long time, but I saw tool 5 times from 2001-2002, if they come to Louisiana I will be first in line buying a ticket.
This album is going to be a monster

quote:His ability to match the tonality of the music both lyrically and with his inflections and phrasings is fricking uncanny. The Contrarian is probably my favorite track on EtE. But the title track is so good. I hated Hourglass live, but I fell in love with it on the album.

MJK is in another stratosphere as a vocalist and lyricist. As he ages, to me, he just gets better. Almost like a fine wine.

I love most of the album but especially EtE, TalkTalk, Disillusioned, The Doomed, Hourglass, and so long, and thanks for the fish
He is definitely one of the all time greats as well

The tool effect is real. I went from yesterday saying "it's definitely Tool" to 20+ lessons later really loving the song and feeling something of an addiction to it. The first half of the song is one of the most mesmerizing pieces tool has ever put together

Strangely, the first experimental half is my favorite part.
I wish there was more Danny weird sound pads at the beginning

He is credited in helping the visuals for Terminator 2. Which last I checked, still holds up today.

Listen to the end of The Grudge. Very similar.
It's the same riff. Both ending riffs for The Grudge and Fear Inoculum are the same as the ending riff in Eulogy.
