Tom Morello is insufferable to listen to. Seems like one of those people who will realize too late that he NEVER got to enjoy ANYTHING from what has been a pretty awesome life.
I don’t like his playing but he’s a respected guitarist from now 2 famous bands. Why’s he pissed ALL the time. Is he ever happy?

It’s because he’s an insecure communist. His whole career trajectory was based on the fact that he wasn’t a competent shredder. He could not keep up with his peers, so he experimented with all kinds of strange sounds and effects in order to stand out. He knows he can make tasteful, but simplistic riffs, but he’s embarrassed, almost ashamed of his success, but more ashamed of how much he loves all that filthy capitalist money. He’s got serious imposter syndrome. As a result, he feels obligated to use his acclaim to further the causes of people he feels are more deserving. So, we’re stuck with an average guitarist with an above average sized chip on his shoulder and a white-savior complex lecturing us all on the wonders of an economic system responsible for more mass murder, starvation, stagnation, oppression, and despair than any other in the history of man because Tom feels guilty about being successful through his gimmick.

RAtM is Limp Bizkit for communists.

because of people like tom morello and RATM i dumped Sirius/XM and started re -buying CD's ... it has opened back up my exposure to some of the older stuff bands put out that they dont play on Sirius anyway . Most of the heavy shite i listen too is now remastered .Just bought all of Judas Priest and all of Diamond Head remastered ...

I agree with you for the most part, but I enjoy hearing some of Peter Asher's stories on occasion.
Morello and his mother are unbearable.

He was doing Ozzy's Boneyard yesterday. Get him off the air.

Where do you come up with this stuff? You make the extremely innovative idea of using a killswitch to widen the sonic possibilities of his instrument sound banal.

Good lord, would somebody PLEASE tell that to the Beatles channel. I'm not exaggerating when I say I think there is more talking than music.
I've found lately that a lot of Sirius presenters talk WAY too much.

Because it is banal. Morello is a one trick gimmick guitarist.

It's just another technique to use. Is tapping a gimmick? Is slapping? Is using a bow on a guitar a gimmick too? It's an immensely silly way to discussing technical elements of the instrument. The idea itself is immensely creative, and sonically, takes some skill to ensure it fits into the mix properly.

Yeah, outside his groovy gimmicky sounds, there's nothing he does exceptionally.

Hey, if you like his one trick gimmick, have fun listening to it. It's his only technique and it's boring as shite. Ooh, throw a lot of wah on there and some non-melodic squealing. Look at me, I'm innovative guitaring! Buy my shite, I'm an edgy commie!

Lol. It isn't his only technique. But let's reduce all playing to discussions of technique that you don't appear to understand. It's okay too, because he's a communist! Very cool and normal way of discussing music.

It's his most prominent technique and it sucks. Like I said, if you like it, enjoy. To me, most of it is noise and he's an unlikable commie prick.

Whether I enjoy it or not, it is an incredibly inventive and unique way of approaching the instrument. Categorizing the use as "because he couldn't shred" (which you didn't do, to be fair), is an absolutely retarded way of talking about technical innovations, or even compensations players come up with to develop their sound. And sonically, how he settles it into the mix is very thoughtful, which is true of the band as a whole. If you listen to Denzel Curry's cover of Bulls on Parade, the whole mix sounds like utter shite. For a faithful rendition, something isn't right about the respective tones.

He’s a perfect example of Pimp’s Postulate # 31;
An ideological Leftist is someone who loves the Idea of humanity but who hates all the actual human beings.
That pos would kill half the country if he could push a button . Poseur derivative joyless shite band too.

Poseur is the perfect word for Tom's fake arse. He's a Harvard-educated son of a Kenyan diplomat. He's your typical elitist class socialist dipshit pretending to be a relatable blue collar salt of the earth type. He's also pretending to be a good guitarist. He's not.
