Waaay underrated. As a writer too.
She could scare the shite out of you, tear your heart out, then make you snicker in a couple of lines.

A coworker brought up the fact that there are very few near perfect "albums" as far as the flow and not having a song that you're tempted to skip over. I had to think about it, and off my head were three albums...Paranoid by Black Sabbath, Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction, and Spring Session M by Missing Persons. It really is a fantastic album.

Of the Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club.
Fun fact: her father was Ralph Weymouth, WWII Navy dive bomber pilot and recipient of the Navy Cross who went on to make Admiral.

Some people don't understand what "under the radar" means. My vote is for Toronto:
When Can I See You Again
Your Daddy Don't Know
That Song Heart Covered

Wendy O and Poly were definitely under the radar, but that’s hardly surprising.

Hell yeah
Forgot about Dale; she was sex on a stick.
That video is amazing. Great band.

Altered Images featured lead singer Clare Grogan and had two MTV "hits" with I Could Be Happy and Happy Birthday.

I came into this thread specifically to add Elizabeth Fraser and I'm pleasantly surprised to see she was already nominated in the second post. Good on you.

Josie Cotton is probably best known for Johnny Are You Queer, but He Could Be The One is a much better song, and it's one everyone should know who enjoys 80s music.
