Hell, nobody plays anything. Even the singers can't sing without Autotune. That's my main get-off-my-lawn gripe with music nowadays. I want to hear musicianship. I want to hear people do stuff with musical instruments that I can't do. But technology has made it so that anyone can create music (for a sufficiently small value of "music").

Nick Lowe said there used to be one rule in recording: "You can't shine shite".

But now, you can fix almost any frickup and make it sound good.

She was the meanest, nastiest bitch I ever encountered working back stage for concerts in Berkeley. Every time I hear her name, I want to punch someone. That was 43 years ago, and I am all worked up right now. Damn.

Do tell. I would have thought the opposite based on her Sandra Dee appearance.

The owner of the studio i used to work at was the main engineer on one of her records. He said she's the craziest bitch he's ever met.

Sure. She was hugely popular as a recording artist and TV star years before Grease. Everybody loved her.

Alwas thought Asia could have done more as a group given the talent that was assembled Howe and Palmer were forces to be reckoned with and a least in that first album, you can hear some of Howe's mastery of the guitar and Palmer's drums. But dammit they allowed Wetton to write songs and by the second album his writing was bad and they were allowing Downes keyboard to overshadow Howe although Palmer's drum work was still pretty solid

If true, then it’s established the two things aren’t mutually exclusive.
