- I know people on here might think the Phish fans are obnoxious as hell, but if you actually went to a show you would get "it"

Welcome, newcomers. The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're gonna hear about it!

Growing up my parents made a point to expose me to a good deal of classical music, and I think that it is a good base to have as far as developing taste. I am still overwhelmed and a bit disappointed at the amount that I am ignorant about, but it is difficult to hear it all, especially when I get hooked on a hand full of songs at a time.

I think that I listen to a pretty diverse group of music. Like with most things if I had to consume just one type then I would get bored out of my mind. Diverse experience is the spice of life. On the other hand, I do get bored with most dance or club type music.

My absolute favorite musician is Frank Zappa. I think that he is probably the most under appreciated musical minds of the 20th century. I think that a lot of people get distracted and confused by his satirical and outright goofy at times initial appearance. They really miss out on some great music. I guess his type of music just was never meant to have general appeal.

Yeah, Zappa is the man. I rage "Willie the Pimp" everytime I mow my lawn for some reason.

Also, words can't do justice for "Camarillo Brillo"

Also feel free to add suggestions of things you'd like to see on here or anything to add to an overall good music board experience

Less flaming of certain artists' threads.
Less closed-mindedness (i.e. one generation is better than another, not liking an artist because he delves into different genres)
Stop the whiny bitch baby help board threads. If you don't like someone man up and challenge them to a battle rap. Don't bookmark their posts and sneakily bombard them at once. Kinda makes the snitch look like a vag.

I am a little new here, but just wanted to add my $0.02
Take it with a grain of salt.

Festivals are still all ages. Some of the best times in high school were at Jazz Fest. Sneaking in beer and putting vodka in waterbottles

I'm not very unique, but..

I used to listen to country , but then I came around and discovered the wonderful world of jam bands.

The Grateful Dead is my favorite act of all time. If you can't appreciate them, i probably don't care for you as a person. I also like Phish, Bisco Discuits, and Galactic.

My other favorite artists include Hendrix, ABB, pre plane crash Skynyrd, John Denver, Elton John, Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, NO LIMIT, Charlie Daniels, Outkast, Chief Keef, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Jay Z, Buffalo Springfield, CCR, The Doors.
