Bruce is like hockey...you have to see him live to really appreciate him.
I get that in the sense that, if you dont like him or are apethetic towards him... his live shows may change your mind..
I hated bruce as a kid and thru HS... When I got to college some cat in the dorm had all his 70s stuff and staying up, drinking beer and listening to that converted me... seeing him live was the icing
edit:yes, Nebraska was my boss gateway, but now its probably 4th or 5th on my list of favorites.

Exactly. The 70's stuff is the soul of what he does. Give me "The Fever", "Rosalita", and "Thunder Road".
And go figure, I just this minute saw this preview for the first time...
Springsteen and I

I like Brice, and I loved the Seeger sessions. What utliamtely happened though is couppled with the O Brother soundtrack, copius amounts of untalented teens picked up banjos and mandolins so they could immerse themselves in a certain aesthetic and ultimatley profit from it.

Everything after 1984 and the Born in the USA album was pretty much downhill

Phish has the largest following of any band in the world
how'd you measure that exactly? Certainly not by concert attendance.
