Is one of if not my favorite venue in town.

Off the top of my head:

American aquarium
Glossary
Justin Townes earle
Jason Isbell
Baseball project
Hawkboy
Royal teeth
Generationals
Damion Suomi and the minor prophets
Two cow garage
Austin lucas

And next month Cory Branan and Audra Mae

Bullet points:

-non smoking venue
-no assigned seating, only a few chairs and tables
-a bar that takes credit cards
-shows start early, around 7pm or 8pm.
- its all ages

I saw Justin Townes Earle at the Manship Theatre, not Hartley Vey Studio. Did he do a show at Hartley Vey as well? Just curious.

He's looking at Black Joe Lewis & Nick Waterhouse for the new season at HV...

Also, Yo La Tengo on the big stage (as part of a documentary they scored)

Sorry I missed the Hartley Vey show. His Manship show was awesome. Way better than I expected it to be.

Oh, no doubt. I just like this place because it's booking better bands than most.

It's also all ages. I only WISH there was a place like that when I was a kid growing up trying to sneak into the bayou.

How long has this place been open?

I had never heard of it until I moved out of br about a year and a half ago. I wish I would've known about it when I was there

Seems like they did a pretty poor job marketing the place the first year then. As many shows as I go to I would've thought id have heard about it sooner

they've had some big shows in that small room.

twin killers, as cities burn side project; hawkboy, royal teeth, mobley sold it out with over 350

fishbone was a huge show as well

American aquarium has played there twice I believe, with BJ playing two acoustic shows there.

here's the link to the cory branan show:
