I really want an acoustic/electric martin with a cutaway for practical reasons, but I REALLY want a $3k+ purple and gold Gibson Les Paul, and a white American made Strat with a whammy bar, and a 12 string, and an acoustic bass, and a PA, and a mixer board, and more recording mics, and a wireless input kit, and some new recording headphones, and a wireless headset mic...

I’m trying to picture that in my head, and be supportive, and not judge? Lol

We talking like LSU colors?

And no cutaways. You get your fingers down there if you wanna play that high. Lol

And I already have a classical with no cutaway. I need the cutaway.

I'm torn on my next purchase between a blonde maple fretted Tele or a cherry Gibson Memphis ES-335

I’m down. Got the week free before Christmas

I’d be willing to host it at my band’s practice space in BR.

Would be cool. I'd drink too much to give me an excuse for sucking.

Hey alum wannabe, ive been playing guitar for a long time and have given lessons for awhile. Shoot me an email if you want to talk guitar stuff and progress in anything like blues/rock style playing.

And adding to the guitar wishlist...
Dear Santa, I would love a worn cherry Gibson Explorer w/Bare Knuckle Cold Sweats, a Gibson Les Paul Classic in Vintage Sunburst w/zebra Duncan Pearly Gates, and a Victory V30 Countess head sitting on top of a Marshall 2061 2x12 cab with Scumback M75's.

You've gone through more guitars than Pete Townshend in his hey-day.

Just kidding.

I've started playing the "Assisted Living Facility" tour.

If someone had told me 16 years ago, when I bought my 1st acoustic, that I'd be playing and singing for some 80 yr old ladies one day...

Life's a trip.

Bare Knuckle I THOUGHT we’re a more affordable pickup. I was wrong. Lol

My Agile (fake LP) previous owner was kind enough to put Slash Seymour Duncan’s in it before selling it to guitar center. I’d buy the guy a beer if I ever found him. Lol. Saved me $200

Researching "the big purchase" is definitely the most fun, addicting part of shopping.

It's like the day after Christmas. There's so much build up that everything after pales in comparison.

It's like, "Ok... what's next."

I've got Slash SDs in my Les Paul ('76 Standard) and I love 'em. I'm also fond of the Rio Grande Genuine Texas/BBQ Bucker matched pair for LPs. I'd take either of those sets in any LP or pretty much any 24.75" scale set-neck mahogany platform over anything in the BK catalog, at least the BK stuff I've been exposed to in the shop.

This is why I haven't bought them.

I've never played them, or heard them played.

It's too much money to invest and then hate the sound.

Check out those new SD Hybrid Customs. My god do those pips sing. Theres a vid of Jamed Lugo playing it through an Epi paul on youtube. Im a very big fan of Motor City pups as well. I have a set of Detroiters in my LP Standard and they smoke. Very snarly with a ton of midrange, almost p90 like, but also super chunky and full on power chords with a very tight low end that makes thrash rhythm gallops super precise.

I have an alnico pro 2 in the neck and a Pearly Gates in the bridge.

In my first guitar ever, a shitty Ibanez Gio, I put a couple vintage ssl1 in the two singles and SD jazz in the bridge.

Yeah I like the sound. It's my practice guitar. It definitely does its job. And if baby Breesus beats on it or knocks it over I don't have a panic attack.

I've been considering upgrading my p-ups in my knock-off LP. I assume the Slash p-ups are your treble. I've been looking for something that will give me a more aggressive crunch. How do you like them?
