I used to go to Raves, though my last one was Kaffeine Halloween 2002, so damn twelve years. I feel old now.

Don't - I used to dabble in throwing warehouse parties. Anybody out there come to the massive 2-day spectacle in the Cotton Gin building before they turned it into the mill lofts?

If so. You're welcome.

Just the same as the burn outs who think they're the shite because they listen to widespread panic, moe, phish etc.

Good stuff, we get it . . . You like jam bands.

This is definitely the answer.

This stuff was coming in at LSU a couple years ago all over the row while I was on my way out, and I'm really glad I never had to spend much time with that stuff, just not my cup of tea.

I don't like it, but the greeks are involved in it because the Sorority girls love it for some reason, and recreational drug use.

In reference to the dubstep, though, this was groups of bros only. There were ZERO chicks in attendance other than a couple random raver girls scattered throughout the building.

At the show Jones is referring to, it was groups of 8 or so frat guys dancing INSANELY all together. We've noticed it at several dubstep events. Makes for good people watching :) Not really a massive dubstep fan myself.. just like to support EDM played locally in any form I can. So at least I can find something to REALLY entertain myself while there.

Nice, simple jam
Starts of slow, but has a more traditional "drop" in the middle
less loud, electronic noises, and more wobbles; good vocals
another simple jam
new twist on an oldie
a non-lyrical song to add variety; probably closer to what you are used to

I don't expect you to love or even like all of those, but certainly you don't find ALL of those unbearable and unrespectable.

I give any type of EDM a chance every time I see these posts. It never fails. Sucks every time. At the most, I may hear something that's catchy for a 10 second hook. Listening to this for an extended period of time or going to a "show" sounds like torture.

And the Jones' question, the frats are in to it because of the "chicks and the party" per my fratstar relative.

there's so much judgment in this thread. Who cares who attends a show? Just go and enjoy the music you went to see. I understand that the crowd can affect vibe, but c'mon.

I understand where you're coming from, but like I mentioned earlier, it's the ones that are affecting more than the vibe that are the problem. The ones who DGAF about acting like jackasses by spilling their drinks on people and ramming into everyone around them.
