I don't know about all of that, I knew them by CCR long before I ever heard of Al Gore.

When I was about 8 and bought Cosmos Factory, they were Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Creedence peaked in my day. We called them Creedence. Everybody had at least one Creedence tape for their 8-track player.
