YouAre8Up is spot on. Even their early stuff was way better than what was popular at the time. Their covers were better than the originals too. I like the Stones, but during the 8 years they went head to head with The Beatles the Stones were several steps behind, and IMO will always be.

Probably the easiest way to tell if somebody doesn't really know anything about music is when they try to criticize the Beatles. It's embarrassing and it's always done by people who don't have the intellectual capacity to feel embarrassment.
