One of the quintessential American bands, and a true summer classic. Masters of the studio and harmonies, and perhaps the contemporary most respected by The Beatles.

Also a very interesting biography, with Brian Wilson's infamous foray into LSD and cocaine which eventually saw him not leaving his bedroom for five years and living off of a steadfast diet of drugs, milkshakes, and candy bars. Also, drummer Dennis Wilson briefly housed the Charles Manson family at his Los Angeles mansion months before their well documented killing spree.

I really can't stand mike love. He really torpedoed the band after pet sounds.
However, Friends, 20/20, and Sunflower don't get enough love.

The Beach Boys on the mall in Washington, DC on the Fourth of July were some of the best times I've had. Great, great fun.

Great band
Sloop John B would be my favorite Beach Boys tune
Saw them when I was just a little tyke. Show featured them, Whitney Houston and Starship. Not bad for my second concert, though Whitney got to be a bore after a while.

A fantastic catalog all around. Extremely influential as well on Rock and Pop music.
I listen to a Beach Boys album at least once a week. Last week was Sunflower....this week...Holland most likely.
Party! is underrated as an experience. Just fun stuff to sit through.

took me years before i learned the "live" experience was a ruse. pretty brilliant.
Today! is really underrated as well. the hits are well known, but the second side of that record is some of their best stuff not on Pet Sounds.
