I grew up with the Beach Boys... I was ten years old in 1963.... didn't really dig all that surfin' and California Girls stuff because how could a boy from Marrero relate to that?

But then there was "Good Vibrations"... certainly among the top ten greatest things ever recorded...

and, ultimately, "Pet Sounds". OH MY GOD. Words can not describe the wonderment and beauty of this album.

I am a very fortunate fellow. I lived through the heyday of the Beatles and the Beach Boys and Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel... when music was meaningful, magical, and musical.

I didn't grow up in their time, but I grew up listening to and loving the Beach Boys!
