Tensions between Maynard and the rest of Tool members

While many have speculated over the years based on Tool interview quotes, Maynard James Keenan made it clear in a new tweet that his communication with his Tool bandmates is terrible.
A fan named Odysseas Kripotos tweeted Keenan, “It looks like there is not much communication between the four of you.”
Maynard responded,
“No shite.”
The conversation was in reference to Maynard’s tweet from a few days ago, “Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w #APC. If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnyshit #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking.”
Radio/podcast personality Eddie Trunk addressed the tweet on his SiriusXM show a couple of days ago and had concerns for the chemistry and communication amongst the Tool members through the recording process, and described their ‘dysfunction’ as he sees it. “If you read that tweet, it does not come off like in any way, shape or form there’s any new Tool record imminent. Because what he’s essentially saying in that tweet, and the way I read it, is he is basically passing the buck on that record to the other three guys.
It’s pretty blatantly clear over time here that you’ve got Maynard on one island and the other three guys on another island and I don’t think there’s a lot of camaraderie or interplay between them. They seem [as if they are from] very two completely different worlds. Some feel that Maynard is the reason why this stuff takes forever. Maynard has countered that it’s the other three guys, they always change stuff; they can’t settle on anything.”

Album bumped to whenever Adam stops trying to show up Maynard.

Been on a serious Tool kick. God they’re so good

I don’t think there’s really a rift. Smells like Maynard just fricking around. They’re all extremely talented, but Adam is a tier below the other three. Maynard, Danny, and Justin are elite musicians. Adam is a decent guitarist with amazing tuning and sound.

I agree but the tone and overall sound of his guitar is awesome, in it's own way.

Likely Maynard fricking around as usual... he loves being the a-hole and getting people riled up.
question, as I'm not familiar with the recording process, but aren't all instrumentals tracked before vocals

This is so overblown. Dude just wants them to work at a faster pace. But he respects their process and gives them the space to do so.

So why can we stream A Perfect Circle music but not Tool?

I think it had something to do with their original contract, if I remember right. Not that it forbid them to, but I think it was the fact that the band didn't want the label getting any more money

Again, vaguely remember it being something like that, but I could be wrong.

Contract royalties. Tool hasn't reached an agreement with Zoo they feel is appropriate for the digital and streaming environment.

I'm a "contrarian" and disagree with you

I bought the latest A Perfect Circle album a few weeks ago. After a few listens, it is not a good album at all.
While I prefer the first three, I still like the new one.

Funny you ask the streaming question, as someone tweeted at Maynard earlier saying he'd be willing to pay a subscription fee to stream tool content and Maynard responded with "Squawking at the wrong tool"

They're not releasing an album until J.R.R. Martin finishes all the ASOIAF novels.
All...of...them.
All...of...them.
