- All three albums are classics, yet fairly unique to one another
- Kevin Parker is a legitimate musician genius who writes, records, performs, and produces their music
- Live performances are flawless and sound more in tune than the studio albums themselves
- Propelled the psych rock genre back into the mainstream with lesser acts like Pond & King G
- Stage production is phenomenal
- No signs of slowing down

Change my mind

Edit: this applies to bands formed in 2003 and after.

I tried to listen to them once. Music is okay but really just generic 80s techno synth. Vocals are terrible.

There are 100 bands better than them.

Too much reverb. It's not awful but I don't hear a lot of great musicianship there. The music just sort of lays there. I'm not going to try to talk you out of it CP. Listen to what you enjoy. But it's not really for me.

I really like tame impala, but they aren't the best band.

I would rate deerhunter, tv on the radio, shins, new pornographers, spoon, caribou, working for a nuclear free city - all above them.

I'll take The Walkmen or The National.

I would go with The National or Animal Collective, but Tame Impala is a good band.

Listen more closely because it’s certainly there.

if the war on drugs puts out another great record they might top my list. Their last two, especially LITD are phenomenal.

just always consistent and solid. Every project is a B+ effort. They just don't put out bad material.

If you give me a specific example, I'll give it another try.

War on Drugs is an excellent choice.

The War on Drugs is certainly a contender.

I wouldn’t have Tame Impala as the best band of the past 15 years, but Let It Happen is easily one of the best album openers in that time period.

The National is a solid choice. Can’t agree with Animal Collective though. To me, they made one good album with MPP but that’s it.
