College kids whacked out on mahl-e while trying to pretend that they have a "cultural following" with some pseudo-gangsta tree thugging band? No fricking thank you.

Coupled with other bands and at festies. Not 20 tribe only shows. I've probably been to 8-10 tribe only shows. Haven't been to one since Waka 2 years ago and I left halfway through. I didn't realize in college how terrible they were until I discovered actual jam bands that actually jam. Regrets my friend... regrets.

That Wakarusa show was an embarrassment. I really don't get how you can be considered a jam band when all your songs are 6 minute segments of elevator music

They aren't. Once you accept that you can enjoy some of their older stuff. I still like some tribe songs. But they don't play the good stuff and the shite they play always sounds the same. There is no improv.

STS9 is considered jam???

I like their shows, but I certainly wouldn't put the label jam on them. Jamtronica? frick if I know. It's still enjoyable.

STS9 is not that bad, guys. Sure, they used to be much better, they are still a fun show.

I'm sure it be fun to go grind your thang on some bimbo who can't remember last show's setlist for a couple of hours but come on- get real.

That, my friend, is keeping it real.

I don't think any tribe fan is espousing them as musical geniuses. The show and atmosphere is better than the music itself.

Exactly what I think of when I hear the Disco Biscuits, sound tribe fans aren't nearly as bad as bisco kids

Are definitely pseudo-gangsta.

However, tDB's shows are infinitely better than any and all tribe shows.

I disagree. Never been a big Biscuit fan. I'll take a tribe show over them any day of the week. Zach Velmer is one of the best drummer touring these days.

It is a regional thing. The northeast is Bisco territory while STS9 rules the south.

Me? I'd rather see Bisco, but I've also seen them far less than STS9. I think Bisco's last show in NOLA was Tips Jazz Fest 08

ETA: As big as a douche Barber is, he can shred.
