I like Velmer's playing and I really like Jeffree Lerner too. Hunter seems like a legitimately great guy but he is borderline terrible at guitar for the amount of attention the band has received. Everyone knows Phipps & Murph are d-bags. That being said, you couldn't pay me to go to a solo tribe show again. I'd much rather save that money for tDB, Umph, Lotus, Moon Taxi, Phish, moe, wsp, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah I'd go to see UM or Moe. any day of the week. Not a big tribe fan, but I can have fun at their shows, especially if they play Circus or their old stuff. I saw Lotus a few weeks ago and they were on fire. Umphrey's are also peaking right now

They are great. Jake Cinninger can shred, Bayliss is also pretty good playing the guitar. Kris Myers is easily one of the best jazz drummers. Stasik is decent on bass, but doesn't need to great since they're more of a guitar band. Not all of their studio work is good and the lyrics can be complicated at times, but they really bring it live.

We get it. Posters on this board hate jamtronica. STS9 can still put on a great show. I'll be seeing them next weekend at Nocturnal, with Lotus performing as well.

??? Love jamtronica and I very much enjoy lotus. You won't find a bigger lotus fan around here. Sts9 doesn't put on good shows anymore and the days of 4 year puma are long over. After seeing tribe 2 or 3 times there is no reason to ever see them again. There is little variance in shows and they don't bring the heat... Making them the opposite of a good jamtronica band.
