I'm to sign up for this I think for my phone. What are the positives and negatives of the service. Are there any major artists/groups that aren't available? TIA

Honestly, Google Play music is a better value imo. $15 a month gives you same type of service as spotify plus youtube red on 6 google accounts (6 phones).

I pay $5 for Spotify as a student. Great value. At $10, it's still good. I don't know any bands off the top of my head that aren't on Spotify that are on others.

No Prince, but you can add songs to a playlist and "download" the playlist and you can listen to the downloaded songs without wifi and not use data. Great for traveling and the gym.

Also add Garth Brooks to that list, unless it's a duet with someone

Only other popular artists I know of not on Spotify not already mentioned are Peter Gabriel and Taylor Swift.

Negatives of the service

No Garth Brooks so you can't listen to Calling Baton Rouge while driving to Tiger Stadium Saturday mornings.

Other than that its awesome. On the desktop version you can follow your friends who are on it and see what they are listening to and subscribe to their playlists.

I've used Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify. Spotify is clearly the best to me, but Pandora kills their radio, and I wish Spotify would invest more in radio stations because they are just crap.
