I damn near had a religious experience at a show last night and I'm concerned that I'm losing it.

One of my favorite songs by my favorite songwriter who almost NEVER plays Texas. I should probably just retire from shows because I'm pretty sure nothing will ever top this guy.

Sean McConnell- Reckless Love

Probably the one moment that stands out in my mind is seeing Alejandro Escovedo at the Magnolia (pre-fire) in St. Francisville probably 10-12 years ago...

The room was tiny and at one point they played just acoustic and did a cover of Mott The Hoople's "I Wish I Was Your Mother"... they walked to all four corners of the room during the song... it was like church... goosebumps...

Alejandro Escovedo - I Wish I Was Your Mother

Also, I saw Michelle Shocked many times in the 90s, but the first was early 90s in summer, at Tips before they put in AC... The whole room was in awe and everyone was soaking wet after the set... good days...

I LOVE Alejandro. I see him often...he plays the Continental Club on a regular basis. Huge talent.

And that's how I felt last night...goosebumps and tears at the same time. I am officially THAT girl

Cool.. I remember back in the late 90s he had a standing gig every Sunday night at the Continental Club... we'd stay across the street at the Austin Motel... Those were good times in Austin...

Havent been back in 10 years, but may be coming for the last few days of SXSW next year...

Great song and great cover by Alejandro. Saw him in BR a couple years ago.

Sure you saw some great shows if you lived in Austin those years.

I can't recall the last time I cried, and I doubt I still can.

You used an emoticon to communicate "give me a break"? I seriously hope you're a female.

Haha, I feel like I cry at the drop of a hat these days. Music tends to get me from all angles, though.

Being an absolute die hard Zeppelin fan, after years of waiting. I had over 100 people I knew put in for tickets to the show. None were drawn, however a great friend called me and said I buy the plane tickets he had the concert covered. We went and being there in person at the O2 concert in 2007 and watching them when they began Kashmir it is the one and only time to date that I had tears in my eyes at a concert. Watching the same concert on DVD has almost the same effect on me to this day.

Imagine by Lennon. my best friend was killed on the Euphrates river he had wrote a letter saying he wanted it played at his funeral. A few months later it was played on the bridge then we tossed the cd and and a few other items into the river. Gets me every time now

I'm not even kidding when I say this, but Bone Thugs Crossroads used to make me cry like a little bitch, every time.
