Shoegaze thread

I’ve never been a devotee, but I’ve always found enough that I liked in the genre to keep me interested. I’m aware that there has been a shoegaze “revival” over the last few years. I came across this band yesterday and really liked this track. They’re Brooklyn by way of BC, and the new album is due in January.

I love metal, but all these sub genres of sub genres make my head spin.

Never investigated shoegaze, never heard My Bloody Valentine until right now. That was crap.

Interesting that this is what is referred to as shoegaze. I always took shoegaze to be mostly instrumental, slower, and heavy in reverb and drone pads. Something like this.

I really like DIIV (who have a new album coming out soon).

Also, while they're normally considered a metal band, Deafheaven's album Infinite Granite is very shoegaze.

Diiv has always been a band that’s remained on my periphery, despite my liking pretty much everything I’ve heard from them.

That song is fantastic BTW. You should just really sit out music threads.

Meh, didn't do anything for me. Why should I sit out music threads because I didn't care for the one song I've heard from My Bloody Valentine? That's absurd. Maybe I'll like the next one, you don't know. Don't be a gatekeeping dick.
