Serious question: can I go to a Jay-Z concert?

I'm a white, upper middle class professional in his mid-40s who is definitely not hip but digs Jay-Z. Will I be the unicorn everyone stares at if I go to the Jay-Z concert coming to New Orleans? I've never been to a concert that wasn't a rock band formed in the 80s (U2, REM, The Cure, Duran Duran, BTE, Huey Lewis, etc.). Not sure what the hip hop concert crowd is like. Hoping Jay-Z is old enough that I won't come off as a wanna be.

P.S. Please skip the "why would you want to" posts.
P.S.S. I promise not to sing along when he drops the N-word. I'm not stupid.

"most" might be strong, but Jay-Z is getting old and the tickets may be cost prohibitive and keep riff raff away.

Find the pot smokers. Hang out with them.

You'll be fine. The people you'd have to worry about are too young to be into Jay-Z

That's what I figured. It's really more age than race that I worried would make me stand out. I think I'd be more self-conscious going to a 21 Pilots concert and looking like a child predator.

Jay z is pretty corporate - there'll probably be more white than black people. Hell I went to a lil Wayne concert and it was majority white

You should go. I've seen him once and there were a lot of hot girls there.

You just described 80% of rap's fan base.

The entire country is only 13% black and 90% of those black people live in the southeast. Who do you think goes to his concerts all over the country?

I've seen him multiple times, twice in NOLA. It will not be mostly white but you won't have a problem. Hopefully he has the roots playing with him again, great show.

Jay-Z is dad rock. It'll have a similar crowd to a Pearl Jam show, only a little more diverse.

Jay-Z's popularity dates back to 1996, when you were in your mid 20s. Safe to say there will probably be a good amount of 40 somethings at this concert.

Most of the younger kids aren't into Jay Z, they like this new weird shite like migos and rae sremmurd.

Yea his new album supports this. Of the people I know the ones 30+ all really like it while the 20 somethings think it's ok. His run from Reasonable Doubt to his retirement after the Black Album was amazing. After he came back from retirement his music really suffered. That's probably a huge reason the younger crowd doesn't rate him as highly.
