Rumor - Turnpike Troubadours breaking up

I used to write in the Texas Music scene and I am hearing rumblings that Turnpike is breaking up.
shite hit the fan this passed weekend when Turnpike was supposed to play in Corpus with Randy Rogers Band and Felker apparently got so shitfaced before sound check that the band left town and went back to Oklahoma. I was not in attendance but this is something I was told.
Obviously you can take this with a grain of salt but I have heard this from a few people I know ‘in the know’.

They posted on their Instagram a little while ago that they were taking a break from touring until November 29th so that "a family member can address something much more important than our ability to perform live."
They also cancelled some shows this summer because they were "working through some family and medical issues that made it impossible to be on tour."
Really hope they aren't breaking up but it sure looks like it is heading that way. Wasn't Evan supposed to be sober now?

I don’t believe so. BJ Barham and Isbell got sober; I think Evan thought he could manage his drinking.
The whole Miranda Lambert thing certainly didn’t help his condition, I’m sure.

They cancelled their appearance at Roots Fest in August. John Fulbright drove over with a bunch of Okie badasses to fill their billing, and I think it was probably a better show than Turnpike.

I didn't know about any of that until just now when I was googleing the band... man Miranda love to break up some marriages, huh? First Blake Shelton now Evan, who served his wife with divorce papers 15 days after meeting Miranda. Jeez. She must have that murda cat

Almost all of the information I have is from other people, so don’t take this as fact, but I was also told that Miranda ended the relationship between the two becuse he would get intoxicated at meet n greets with some high up people.
Like I said, this is just a rumor though.

I had tickets (and a hotel room) for next Friday's show in Charlotte. I hope the best for whoever is dealing with issues. Here's the announcement they sent with the Facebook announcement.
Hey Charlotte The Turnpike Troubadours fans! If you haven't seen the news yet, the show has been cancelled due to an illness in the band.
"To our fans:
First and foremost, you are the reason we get to do what we do every single day, and we want you to know how much that means to us. There have been many discussions on what to say publicly, and it is our unanimous opinion that our fans are our family, and there is no need to sugar coat anything. Living this life on the road has so many ups, but, like in all life situations, there are also battles and struggles with which you learn to deal. The one core thing our band has always had is a tight family unit. The love we share with our entire team: our bandmembers, road crew, business team and fan base feels very much like family. When one of us is down, we are there to lift them up and help them down the road. Right now, we have a situation that needs our complete attention. For the time being, we need to put our tour on hold through November 29th, and make sure our family member is able to address something much more important than our ability to perform live. We do NOT take this incredible blessing of playing our music for our fans all over the world for granted. As much as we would all would love to keep touring, we love our family member more and need to be there to make sure he is able to conquer the issues with which he is struggling. He has our support 100% and we will be here to walk beside him and carry him if needed, no matter the outcome. We love all of you from the bottom of our heart and hope to get back to doing what we all love, which is making and performing our music for you - Our extended family - as soon as possible. As our good friends always say, “family first,” and we have to be there to make sure that this family is taken care of before getting back to business. Thank you for understanding, and we are so thankful for the support you have shown us and continue to show us while we take some time to heal."
Sorry guys, hope to see you out at some shows coming up! — at The Fillmore Charlotte.

I sure hope they get their shite straight but if not it’s been a hell of a ride. Will always be my favorite band. Evan has a way of telling a story that seems to always hit close to home for me.

Sounds like a short term rehab situation.

She seems to be a wicked little thing that doesn't mind leaving a trail of destruction.
I guess the affair, the breakup and the attention it gained has sent the guy spiraling.

Miranda broke up a marriage (the wife is hotter) and then dumped Evan

"we aren't going to sugar coat anything, so here it is, straight up and unfiltered: somebody is going through some things, and we need to be there for people when stuff happens to them."
thanks for the brutal truth!

Yeah but it's happened before
Evan should probably dry out and then beg his hot ex wife to take him back

Based upon her insta, I think she’d be up for it if he were sober and sincere.
Also, she’s a smoke show.
