Irish music legend dies aged 56 after years of mental health battles - and 18 months after her 17-year-old son Shane also passed away

"the lion and the cobra" and "i do not want what i havent got" are two stone cold classic albums. she had issues but i do believe her heart was always in the right place. and as it turned out, she was absolutely right about catholic hypocrisy

RIP

There aren't many songs as beautifully sung as Nothing Compares 2 U. RIP.

Cornell's might be better - but she sang pretty much the definitive version of "Foggy Dew" that I've heard more times than I can count between Dropkick Murphys & Conor McGregor - RIP

Her singing live at Conor's fight gave me chills

Never cared for his version.

That was brilliant. Conor was the goat at that time.

Wrong fight - and Cornell's version is brilliant.

Then again, I thought the Me First & the Gimme Gimmes cover was excellent too.

Never liked her, or her handful of songs that received airplay.

However, I'm sorry to hear of her passing.

Sad. The definition of a “haunting” but beautiful voice.

Her best effort IMO…

I respect the hell out of her. Say what you will she is younger than me and had the guts to do that stunt on SNL when she was in her 20s.

I looked that up after seeing she was only 56. She was 25 when she made her SNL appearance. Twenty-freakin'-five, and promoting her third album. That took some huge stones to do that, knowing what the backlash could be (and was).
