I saw him when he was touring supporting “Wired” in 1976.

A Yardbird.

From “Blow by Blow: Freeway Jam

His biggest influence was Cliff Gallup.

Terrible news!! One of Top 5 best ever guitarist. Saw him live w/ Jan Hammer at The Warehouse in the 70's, also at a festival in NOLA with Aerosmith & Fleetwood Mac...

Had to post this one too after listening to both Blow by Blow and Wired back to back. The good old days. Jeff B is on Mount Rushmore for sure.

When my wife told me he passed. I did the same thing. Those 2 albums are just mesmerizing to listen too. It had been 10 plus years since I had listened to them.

"Jeff Beck Live At Ronnie Scott's" is one for the ages.
Thanks for all the great music Jeff!

Absolutely stellar show. Jeff is one of the best to ever play. A huge loss.

Saw him in the mid 70's but memory is a little fuzzy.
It was in Tulane Stadium with ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Max and others.
Anyway, I remember it was raining and Jeff Beck kept trying to play through it, but finally announced he couldn't take it getting shocked any more so had to leave.
Anybody at that show and can fill in details?

No matter who your favorite guitarist is, he is either directly or indirectly indebted to Jeff Beck's influence. Whether one could relate to his huge, diverse body of work or not, Jeff Beck was simply the guitarist's guitarist, and the GOAT's GOAT. No question.

Don't believe me? Pick any, ANY, great and/or iconic living guitarist, go to his social media platforms right now, and go look at what that player had to say about Jeff Beck's influence on them and on guitar in general.

Yet again, Jeff Beck has all of my idols in awe and disbelief but unfortunately this time it's because he's now silenced. Very sad.

The most influential guitarists of the Rock Era. More than Clapton, Hendrix, Van Halen, and Page. He really broke ground with new styles and techniques.

His addiction was restoring old cars. His day job early in his career was in a garage. He led a healthy lifestyle

Sad loss. One of my favorite JB tracks was a recording he did with Seal from the Jimi Hendrix tribute album Stone Free. The one thing I hate about soundtracks and compliations are that they aren't usually on the streaming services.

Actually he was a health nut and did NOT live, at least for a long time recently, the "rock and roll lifestyle". He somehow contracted Bacterial Meningitis. I'd be surprised to see if that has anything to do with the "rock and roll lifestyle". But, you never know.

If Keith Richards is outliving you your death had nothing to do with the rock and roll lifestyle.
