He has been trashing the rest of the bands' vocals lately, which is funny because his vocals were always the worst part of the song. The other guys took the high road and didn't trash him personally. Brent was the problem.

I’m very sorry your family has experienced such loss.
My Mom is handling it better than I expected this time. When my other brother died she lost it.

This really sucks. Hell of an artist…I love Mastodon. Going to binge them the rest of the day.

This is crazy. He had just quit Mastdon a couple of months ago & had been going scorched earth on the Mastodon guys on social media.
He was going scorched earth because he didn't quit.
They fired him and said he quit....

Royalties are forever though, no?
So I wonder what happens to his rights now. Did he have any kids?

No children per ChatGPT but he was married, so perhaps she receives the rights from his estate.

He was always a borderline type of person, but I liked the flair he brought to the band.
Yeah it's been obvious he's been battling some demons for a bit now. Honestly shocked it wasn't drugs or alcohol that got him. Hell of a talent.

Pretty sure his wife left him too. My theory is he was wild and still acting like a 20 yr old rock star and was outta control a lot. The rest of the band is settled down with kids and just over that childish behavior and got to the point that it was too much to deal with. I’d seen him in EAV or L5P hammered all the time stumbling around. Rest of the band if I’d see them out it was way more chill and in control of themselves.

Great artists are unmanageable and the best art comes from trauma.
