Don’t know if to post this on here or the music board, but I’m going to a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater next weekend. I will be staying in Denver for the weekend and going to the Sunday night show. What is the best way to get back and forth from Denver to the venue in y’all’s past experience? I’ve seen there is a shuttle but was curious if taking an Uber would be better. Definitely not driving so wondering the best route to get back and forth with a driver. TIA

I dont know if this is still the case, but last time I was there Lyft had obtained some partnership with Red Rocks, and Uber drivers weren't allowed in to pick people up. The area for Lyft was an absolute shite show. We had to walk what post show seemed like 20 miles to get out of the park and get to our Uber driver. Hopefully it has gotten better, this was several years ago.

Saw Widespread Panic there when they sold it out for the 50th time. My favorite venue ever.

This. Traffic is generally a nightmare getting out. I've been to two shows there, and both times many people left early in an apparent effort to beat the congestion.

If you have some alcohol on hand, be patient and drink. Call your Lyft when things calm down.

I would rather walk back to Denver than deal with a ride sharing clusterfrick after a concert, especially at red rocks

OP, take a shuttle. They’ll drop you off at the top and pick you up at the bottom

Definitely take a Party Bus/shuttle! A lyft or Uber will take forever to get out. Plus, obviously you can party on the way and they get you pumped up by jamming the band’s tunes on the way.

If this is the show you’re going to I’d jump on this now as the Friday and Saturday show shuttles are sold out. CID Colorado Shuttles to Red Rocks

This the bus I used but the website is acting up (at least on my Ipad) when I select individual shows. BUSTOSHOW.ORG

Either drive yourself and tailgate or hire a driver/shuttle. Like others stated, Lyft and Uber are a pain. Been several times.

Who you going see baw?

I was tempted to try to see Khruangbin play there this Summer. But that would be a pretty long road trip to see a concert.

Good a reason as any for a road trip. Especially red rocks

Very true. Can't think of a band that I'd rather see more than them. The venue would be a major bonus.

When I get home in a couple of hrs, I'm going to check on tickets.

They must have rebuilt it quickly because the Disco Biscuits burned that place down a month ago

I know I know...u2 but either they helped put red rocks on the map or vice versa. Just my opinion. Good concert back in the 80s.

My order of preference, though I haven't been since Uber/Lyft became a thing.

1. Drive yourself. The tailgating before the show is as un as the show is a lot of times.

2. Shuttle - Most will let you bring a cooler on the bus, and the one I took let us leave our coolers in the bus during the show.

Reading through this thread, sounds like Uber/Lyft is the worst option, which isn't surprising. That option is pretty dreadful for any concert/special event.

The problem is every option will take forever. It is going to take forever to get out, unless you purposefully leave early. Accept that your evening will not end as soon as the concert does, whichever route you choose.
