Getting an early start tomorrow morning! I should be in line around 7 AM--doing Skully'z on Bourbon St. this year.

Grateful Dead and The Doors are on my list. May pick up a few others.

I ended up grabbing 7.29.66, moe., & Legalize It!, but the real winner from the day was the person who arrived at Mobile Records at 4 AM to be the first in line only to buy Miley Cyrus' Bangerz & Deee-Lite's Goove is in the Heart/What is Love?

Got Todd Rundgren's Utopia, Allen Toussaint and Curtis Knight feat. Jimi Hendrix at Skullyz. At Euclid I picked up Cleaners From Venus, Hawkwind, Popol Vuh, Field Music and Super Furry Animals.

A little bummed I couldn't get the Cure or the SONOR Music Editions comps but otherwise found everything I was looking for. It will get loud up in here today.

I was in line early at Skully'z...in the front 4 people.

Picked up Grateful Dead, The Doors, and the picture disc of Yes 90125.

Then we went to Euclid, there were about 150 people ahead of me--stayed about 10 minutes and then got a message that LA Music Factory had only 2 people in line. So I jumped in the car with a friend and we went there--we were #3 & 4 in line.

Picked up The Meters and Nillson Schmillson.

Word from a couple owners was that all the allotments weren't shipped--not the distributors having issues, but the record companies held a lot back. The rest of the stock will be released in a couple weeks...sounds like a few record companies are bilking RSD customers to come out again and stand in line in a couple weeks.

He cited the Cure records as just one example--said only 200 were shipped out to all stores. He claimed there were many more like that.

From what I heard, a lot of the stock was shipped overseas that wasn't supposed to and they are re-releasing some to make up for it.

Should have done that but I had a buddy meeting me at Euclid, of course he showed up 45 minutes late.

Really jealous you got the meters release.

Walked up to my local record store to see some bands. Charlie Crockett was earlier and just watched Rodney Crowell....MC900ft Jesus was about to go on but I left to go mow my yard.......bands go every 30 minutes until 10pm or so.

Euclid

Screw that place. NOLA people were standing up for it like it was tits dipped in coke. That place sucked...waaaaay too many new records; there were few treasures to be found.

I wanna go to a REAL record store in NYC this summer. I am going to the 2 I know of in Greenwich village. Euclid was about as shitty as Atomic Pop in BR.
