I say yes
I tear up everytime I hear it
Greatest song ever written and Lee Greenwood has the voice of an angel.

Star Spangled Banner is automatically better because it's our national anthem.

I say we change the anthem to "Proud To Be An American" and put Lee Greenwood on the $100 bill

actually titled "God Bless the USA"
ETA: but yes, pure awesomeness

I agree. I sing it aloud every time I walk into Wal-Mart. It's lets people know that I'm serious about buying junk from China.

I saw him perform the halftime show in 2007 in tiger stadium for a game
Cheesiest thing I've ever seen. Worst song ever and as a veteran I'd like to punch him square in the face for exploiting it.

I saw him in like 2009 or something at an lsu halftime with the band and it brought a tear to my eye
And I was pleasantly surprised the band could play something other than "golden hits of Motown"

El Gaucho...do you stay up all night thinking of these thread topics?
And just to be on topic...when he sang the song at Tiger Stadium just after 9/11, he ran through it so fast it was like he was tired of having to sing it...

I think Lee Greenwood was behind the 9/11 attacks. His shitty career had run its course. He thinks, "hey if I can get America to rally around my stupid arse song and feel more patriotic then I could make a killing!" A few phone calls to Osama later and voila an orchestrated terrorist attack. Lee Greenwood then reminds everyone of his song and now he's making bank. Just a thought.

I prefer "American Badass" by Kid Rock. Gotta go full Idiocracy.
Put Kid Rock on the 37 dollar bill

"Banned in the USA" by 2 Live Crew is a better song.

If you were around for Desert Storm aka Iraq Part 1, you could not get away from this song. It was huuuge.

Same here, I too am a vet and cannot stand this fricking song!!!!
"Imagine" by John Lennon is 1,000,000x better than that Wal-Mart music box song

Lee greenwood was Toby Keith before Toby Keith was Toby Keith.

you haven't lived until you've watched a bunch of rednecks at a HS football game stand to attention when it's played over the PA system.
