True. I have my Pandora set up so that the country I listen to is country that you would never hear on the radio.
FM radio is bad for your health. Stay away.

there really are two different types of country music these days. one kind is made for $$$, the other is made for art.

I would like to know some of the stations you listen to. I have always loved country music but over a year ago I just stopped listening for all the reason already discussed in this thread. Would be nice to hear some country that doesn't suck.

A pool of writers write the songs, submit them, the artist/label picks a song to "cut" an the songwriter gets paid.

Even if this was exactly how it worked for every song, why would it even matter? it's like complaining that actors don't write their own movies
I watched a 30 minute special on Eric Church talkin about when they wrote all the songs on his new cd
