A few tracks from the classic Children of Nuggets compilation:

The Barracudas - "I Can't Pretend"

The Vipers - "Tears (Only Dry)"

The Scruffs - "My Mind"

Cheap Trick. I consider them the Power Pop band.

The Flamin Groovies Teenage Head is an album second to none. I never really considered that one Power Pop but I guess it is.

I wore out Smithereens 11 tape. However, this song was always my favorite:

Cigarette

How the hell has this thread lasted this long without T.Rex? I mean it doesn't get more power pop than this.

I like T Rex but I do not consider them P-P. "Jeepster" has, among other things, a standard boogie-rock beat. Neither song has harmony vocals.

After reading this thread, I'm certain I have no idea what power pop actually is, so forgive me if those examples were terrible.

I think of bands like the Knack and Bram Tchaikovsky when I hear 'power pop'. Maybe the Plimsouls?
