While it is already widely understood that the Grateful Dead is the greatest live band in the history of time, they've still got some tracks that get a little more hype than it warrants. Obvious choice is Touch of Grey, so let's leave that one out.

Wharf Rat - Not saying there aren't some excellent versions of the song (12.2.73, 7.8.78, 10.7.77, etc.), but I'd consider this to be one of the more overrated tunes by Grateful Dead.

Fire away

Wait......what?

Scarlet->fire is the best transition song in the deads arsenal.

Brent made the 80s. His ability to harmonize with bobby and jerry helped the band tremendously.

I dont know about overrated, but most of the "radio" songs are over played. Touch, truckin, casy jones.....

fire on the mountain = art garfunkel
I do like the transition jam though...the best Scarlets are 74- 76 with a nice closing jam and then ending on the resolving chords

I am not a big fan of Peggy-O...not "overrated"--just doesn't do it for me.

Now, Jack Straw on the other hand...that shits fire!!

Yeah I don't like Peggy-O either really. I guess maybe looks like rain isn't overrated, I just kinda don't like it.
