Despite the fact that it reached #2 on the pop chart, I have never heard this played on an oldies radio station

Forgotten band that deserves to be remembered, if only for this Pythonesque ad line

An AOR playlist [new cuts] from 1978
Fotomaker was a power poppish band w/members of the Rascals and Raspberries
I've never heard Be Bop Deluxe at all, certainly not on the radio
Never heard of:
Doucette
Kayak
Jimmy Owens
David Spinozza
I presume at some point money and/or illicit substances exchanged hands to get them (and some of the others) on this list

Curiously, no Keith
I recently read a lifelong Stones fan claim the band's stars in the '60s were Jagger and then Brian. It was only after Brian's death that Keith became a celebrity, especially due to the well publicized '70s tours

That is true.
Brian was really popular. (I was around back then. Lol)
To be totally honest when people compared and argued about guitarists it was usually between George Harrison and Brian Jones. People really didn't start talking about people like Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Keith Richards and Eric Clapton until like 68 - 69.

If you’re talking about the left-handed upside-down thing there’s a few of us out there like Eric Gale, Doyle Bramhall II, Dick Dale (rip) and Coco Montoya.
