I know the general public favors the Black Keys and My Morning Jacket, but it seems like this board doesn't like them. I think both put on great shows.

Took lessons from a guy once who could really play. Jimmy Page had been his idol, so he wanted to duplicate all his work.
He bought a machine that slowed down the licks and when he did he discovered that Page was very sloppy and tried to overplay in many ways. Genius is not playing as many notes as possible as fast as you can.
Guys like Joe Walsh, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Billy Gibbons and even guys like Mark Bryan and yes, Keith Urban have a subtlety that Page never possessed.
Edit: The thread is unpopular opinions right? Go ahead and think Page was great. IDGAF

Who the shite doesn't like MMJ? Jim James is a god IMO.
As for the Black Keys, they've rattled off a couple shitty albums lately, but their first 4-5 albums were the tits, and Patrick Carney has become one of the best producers around.

I respect the technique of guitarist like that, but it doesn't carry the emotion and soul of people like BB King, Buddy guy, SRV, Hendrix, etc.
I think with enough practice, anyone with some talent can learn metal. Not everyone can play and feel blues.

I think Drunk in Love is the most incredibly annoying song I've heard in years. I have nothing against beyonce, just think the song is so fricking terrible.
