Down Highland a little ways from Tigertown. Went there a bit in '85, '86. Always some pretty interesting people in there. Couple of songs I always think about when that place pops in my head:
Shriekback -- Nemesis
Time Zone / Afrika Bambaataa w/ John Lydon -- World Destruction

That's GREAT!!! Never knew BTE gave Xanthus a nod in song.

By 1990, dancing with a pole at Xanthus had a totally different meaning than those lyrics.

I never went there, or went there once-can't recall. Was Blue Monday big there or am I thinking of The Kingfish?

Xanthus was considered kind of the gay gateway to Opinions IIRC. I remember thinking the S&M Night things they used to do were fun.
