And recommendation for Brand, thickness, material etc on accoustic strings.....I think I am going to buy a 10 pack from Just Strings and would like to see what others might recommend.
I have used D'Arririo in the past but would like to get the best availble given that 10 sets will last a lonnnngggg time.

Elixir is what came on my Taylor from the factory and that's all I have ever put on there. They are more expensive, but it's impressive how long they continue to sound good. I can get 6 months out of them.

I've always used Martin strings for my acoustic. I usually go with light weight. Extra light sounds too empty. The light gives it a fuller sound.
Martin also makes a string similar to elixirs. I bought some to try out, haven't put them on yet.

Elixir is great for the first week, then lose the punch.
D'Arririo last a while, dont sound as smooth.

I'd been playing extra-light strings on my acoustic for close to 10 yrs.I wanted to go with a heavier string to try and get a deeper, fuller sound They said to try light and then move to the mediums if I wanted.
I put the mediums on right away.It was downright painful for a couple of weeks.Like I had no calluses .I like playing them now.
I use Martin also.

Cleartone lights or mediums. The best strings, period, if you feel like forking over the $$$.

I've had the Martin Lifespan strings on my guitar for a while now. They sound good and lasted as long as the Elixirs. So either one is a good choice. I think the Martins were a couple of dollars cheaper. As for weight, that's a personal choice. I go back and forth between lights and extra lights. Sometimes I'll use extra lights on the A,E and D strings and Lights for the G,B,E.

I use Martin strings on my Gibson Hummingbird. Elixirs are good too.

Elixir Nanoweb .012-.053 is what Taylor recommends, I think. Personally I've always liked D'Addario and Martin Marquis.

medium strings unless your a girl... maybe lights if your are playing a lot of bends Elixr, Martin Sp, dadarrio etc all make similar products just have to find the one that suits you. also you need to figure out if you like coated or non coated coated are higher$ but last longer some dont like the sound of a coated string
