I assumed he co-wrote this with a professional songwriter but google says he's the sole songwriter on this one. Definitely the best and most complete song he's ever written imo.
ETA- the first song I ever taught myself on guitar (not a friend teaching me, or my teacher teaching me, internet didn't exist, it wasn't in Guitar Magazine either)) was Bad Luck by SD. I never got big into them but I was so proud of myself.

I like it. Reminds me of classic social distortion. I first heard them as a teen because “Story of My Life” was in a Guitar Hero game. It ended up being one of the first songs I learned to play on an actual guitar.

I remember seeing them at the place next to Chimes back in like 96 or 97. I have been a fans since their first album. Good to see they are still kicking.
