The songs mentioned by The Doors are both great driving songs.

I also like the Chris Isaak song Kings of the Highway

Overcome - Better Than Ezra

Gas pedal starts to ease down at the drum/guitar break around the 4 minute mark.

Other candidates:

rearviewmirror - Pearl Jam
Waitress - Live (the liner notes actually tell you not to curse and drive. )

I have a 500 song "Road Trip" playlist on my iPod that I'm jamming to right now.

The more I think about it, all songs I like are great driving songs. Well, except for Blue Monday. It came on yesterday. I cranked it. Toward the end when it got really intense, i wanted to get out of the truck and dance. That's not good.

Probably pure nostalgic reasons, but this song sticks out and reminds me of a road trip from back in high school.
