Quite opinionated.
But I think Neil Peart and Freddie Mercury should be in there.
Or Peter Gabriel (Writting and lead singer)

Depends on what I'm going for. Skill? Preference? Guys that would probably play well together?
Guitar - Page or Hendrix
Drums - Taylor Hawkins
Bass - John Deacon or John Paul Jones
Vocals - Someone really eccentric but heavy. Robert Plant, Dave Grohl (could also play rhythm), MAYBE Scott Weiland. Someone in the 'hell of a showman, funky as hell, but could also rock arse' mold.

If we're talking all-time greats, I would agree. IDK how Peart would do in say...Zeppelin though. Insanely skilled, but somewhat limited in diversity.

Yeah it was hard for me to leave Page and Plant out.

I can agree to that. Neil is a magician, but I can see where he lacks the "soul" of making the list.

Great question/post!
I haven't decided on the entire lineup, but Jagger would be my front man, with Duane allman on slide with Jimi there as well on lead. Bonham prolly on drums. Johnnie Johnson on keys...working on the rest...thinking berry oakley on bass but not sure if I would take 2 members from allman brothers.
I wish we could have a "NFL type draft" where posters could draft their band and musicians could only be picked once.

Why do images of Michael Jackson and Slash come to mind?

That's a good one. I think that would be mine as well

Why don't you just replace Black with Bowie? We know you want to.

Zep. All of them, plus you get Page as one of rock's best ever producers.

You can make a strong argument for every member of Led Zeppelin being the best ever at what they did.
Plant - vocals, Page - guitar, Jones - bass, Bonham - drums

Would be a step down from what I'd like to see here. Obviously, I've gone for something which would be intriguingly intense and interesting, as opposed to 'all star' per se.
Pray tell, who exactly are
