Ive gotta think if people realized semi charmed life mentioned doing crystal meth and getting the girl face down on the mattress there wouldn't have been nearly as many soccer moms blasting that while dropping the kids off at school

It took so long to remember just what happened.
I was so young and vestal then
You know it hurt me
But i'm breathing so i guess i'm still alive
Even if signs seem to tell me otherwise.
I've got my hands bound and
my head down and my eyes closed. My throat wide open.
Do unto others what has been done to me
Do unto others what has been done to you

I'm treading water
I need to sleep a while.
My lamb and martyr you look so precious.
Won't you won't you come a bit closer,
Close enough so i can smell you.
I need you to feel this,
I can't stand to burn too long.
Released in sodomy.
For one sweet moment I'm whole.

I would think people nowadays would have a conniption about Dire Straits Money For Nothing.

See the little **** with the earring and the makeup
Yeah buddy that's his own hair
That little **** got his own jet airplane
That little **** he's a millionaire

During the outro of The Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up," Mick claims the girl in question could "Make a dead man come."

Nope, I quoted the lyrics uncensored, this board stuck the asterisks in there.

Do you think those lyrics would fly in today's world?
Nothing wrong with the lyrics. White guy hollering at a black chick. So what?

Lol, that's not what's going on in that song. And if you try to holler at a black chick by using that song or calling her brown sugar, odds are you aren't gonna get anywhere.

Sitting on a park bench
Eyeing little girls with bad intent
Snot's running down his nose
Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes
Hey, Aqualung
Drying in the cold sun
Watching as the frilly panties run
Hey, Aqualung

Beck- Girl

With a noose she can hang from the sun
And put it out with her dark sunglasses
Walking crooked down the beach
She spits on the sand where their bones are bleaching
And I know I'm gonna steal her eye
She doesn't even know what's wrong
And I know I'm gonna make her die
Take her where her soul belongs
And I know I'm gonna steal her eye
Nothing that I wouldn't try
My sun-eyed girl
My sun-eyed girl
I saw her, yeah I saw her with her hands tied back
And her rags were burning
Crawling out from a land filled life
Scrawlin' her name upon the ceiling
Throw a coin in a fountain of dust
White noise, her ears are ringing
Got a ticket for a midnight hanging
Throw a bullet from a freight train leaving
And I know I'm gonna steal her eye
She doesn't even know what's wrong
And I know I'm gonna make her die

The one that has bugged me for years is The Police "Every Breath You Take". Because of the style of the music people use it for "romantic" in movies, weddings etc.

It's a song about a stalker or obsessive ex.

I can clearly remember how this was thought of as a RAH RAH song at the time. I was 13 or 14. It amazes me when I hear the song now and it's a completely different tune than what was thought then.

I didn't take care for it back then as I was a little headbanger, but I appreciate it now for it's subversive nature compared to the flag waving of the time.

How has no one thought of Duran Duran’s “Hungry like the Wolves”? Please look up the meaning of this song. It’s a disturbing song to play with kids in the car.

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt, I'm after you
Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line, in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt, I'm after you
Mouth is alive, with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf

The LSU band performed American Woman and someone wrote an angry rant to the Reveille about it.

“She’s Sixteen, She’s beautiful, and she’s mine” seems less creepy to me than other songs because it makes no inclination that the guy is older, they could be high school sweethearts.

On the contrary all the songs by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap like Young Girl make it very clear the guy is a grown man.

I don't get misunderstanding American Woman. It literally opens with "get away from me". How much more do you need to clarify that?
