My Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII delivered Tuesday. Man this can do some crazy sounds.

Some simple little progressions just sound great. It pretty much nails that Roger Mcgwinn sound just plugged straight in.
I've had 12 string acoustics before, this is another ballgame though.
Then sparce simple fill accent licks.
It's going to take a little bit to get decent on E shuffles on it. It's great for doing them in A though.
I wish I had gotten one before this.
I don't think I will be doing any open tuning stuff on it though

Squier has come a long way. I've done some double takes on guitars hanging in the shop to see they are budget brands. They're solid.

OP: congrats on the new Jazzmaster. I really like JMs and offsets in general.

True about Squiers--I think they're a great bang for the buck especially the Classic Vibes and Paranormals. The Offset Tele S/J and CV Starcaster are two of my favorite guitars.

This is very nice for $430. I haven't found anything to complain about yet.
Setup and fretwork are great. Intonation was dead on.
This thing won't get a lot of playing time, I'll only use it for some accents here and there on demos. I will probably never need to do anything to it. It sounds just fine.

Edit to point out: Those 80s MIJ Squier guitars were really good. It's a shame they didn't keep building them there.

This is the first Paranormal model that I've even played. I like this better than the CV models because it doesn't have that heavy finish on the neck.
I want to get someplace this week to try one of the Paranormal P-90 Strat-o-sonics. They have a 24 3/4 scale with a wraparound bridge.

Post a pic. I just looked at that guitar about a month ago. Had it in my hand.

Maybe. I've only played this white one.

One day, I'm going to wake up feeling motivated and will photograph my main guitars and post them here.
I'm still doing final touches on my LP junior with the Bigsby, when that's done, I'm going to do some photos.
As far as the JM XII, It's the Arctic white, with tortoise shell pickguard.

Yeah. My luthier pal was a huge Squire snob until he set up and played my Strat and Jazzmaster (both Classic Vibes). Now he'll at least admit they're a very good entry level guitar and great for the price.

I ended up eventually upgraded the pick-ups on both to the vintage real deals, but I don't think it was at all necessary.

I don't know about the Classic Vibe Strats, I've never played one, but I imagine those pickups in a CV Jazzmaster are the same as this Paranormal. These are very good I can't imagine needing to change them out. Pots, switch and jack, probably can improve those.

Didn’t even know this existed. I’ve been looking for a reason to have a jazz master this may be it. I think I need it.

Picked up a Paranormal Offset Tele recently to get myself back into playing and love it.
